I’m going to get straight to the point with this post. I have made friends with one of the coolest products EVER.
Let me introduce you to my new fave pal – Blush Gin. Blush Gin is a triple distilled, handcrafted and batch infused gin, made by two VERY clever cookies. What makes Blush Gin just that little bit more special? It’s a gin infused with Rhubarb. That's right, Rhubarb Gin! And let me tell you right now, Blush Gin is mouth-watering. I’ve had it on its own (on ice) mixed with soda and then… in this little mix, I’ve created below.
Now I am not going to lie, I am not a cocktail connoisseur. I’ll order one, I’ll enjoy one, but I’ve never actually made one!
So this my friends, is my wee take on a Gin Fizz, using Blush Gin. I’ve decided to make it light and refreshing, almost something to remind you of summer. You’ll see I’ve used a particular fruit in this cocktail, that is unique as the gin itself. Want to know exactly what a Calamansi is? Click here.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Note – this makes enough for two in a small cocktail glass.
60 to 80mls of Blush Gin
5 mint leaves
Freshly squeezed calamansi to taste (don’t have calamansi? Lime, grapefruit or orange will work well too)
1/4 tsp of freshly grated ginger
Fill up your favourite glass with ice. In a shaker or a jar, shake all of the above ingredients together, including the Blush Gin, other than the ice, for about 30 seconds. From there, pour over the top of the ice, and then top with soda water. Enjoy!
